Independent Mixing Stations
Independent, programmable speed controllers provide for mixing speed and
flocculation energy input optimization (multi-variable jar testing
analysis). |
| |
| |
Program Setting for Flash Mixing &
Flocculation Speeds
& Times
Four
independent stations/drives each with independently programmed sequential
speed and time settings for flash mixing and flocculation stages.
Individual
station Automatic
and Manual
mode selections.
Retention
of LAST RPM and TIME settings (in AUTO) for ongoing tests.
Operates at a
range of speeds from 20rpm to 200rpm - stepping up in 10rpm increments.
Each
station's microprocessor maintains paddle speed via real time hall effect
sensor feedback.
Paddle
speed is relatively unaffected by variable test water viscosity, temperature
conditions or jar size. |

|
Digital Displays
14mm
3 and 4 digit numeric LED displays - RPM and Time.
3 step program to emulate flash mixing / flocculation stages or tapered
flocculation.
Each Speed and
Time display is common for Stage 1,
pause and Stage 2 – selectable.
4 digit display
provides a clock for Stage time – selectable for flash mix and
flocculation. |

Compact & Portable
Superior presentation, robustness and weight 12.4kg (~30lbs) makes the
Platypus ideal for use at multiple locations by technicians / sales
representatives and consultants. A custom carry case is offered for
this purpose. |
| |
| |
Backlighting
Extra low voltage, 2.4 Watt (total) LED lighting array.
Brilliant ice white light uniformly distributed.
Unique position of the light source, at bottom
rear back pane,
avoids potential interference caused by thermally induced currents that
may hinder settling floc particles.
Suspended floc particles are illuminated against a black backdrop - maximises floc definition and contrast.
Facilitates observation of floc size, floc density, floc settling rates and
supernatant/subnatant clarity. |

Safety
Low 15 volt power supply with water resistant keypads - safe to operate
in wet environments |
| |
| |
|
Tactile, Membrane Keypads
Water resistant tactile keypads at each station
include programming touch buttons, control mode and stage
selection indicators (LED’s). |
| |
| |
|
Lightweight, Durable Body Easy
to clean, water resistant, extensive use of corrosion resistant ABS,
polycarbonate and acrylic materials; |
|
|
|
|
|
Quiet Operation
Motor/gearboxes equipped with rubber power transmission type belts
resulting in vibration free operation and low noise. |
| |
| |
|
Square Jars
1
Litre and 2 Litre clear polycarbonate injection moulded jar
accessories.
Easy- to-clean fillets at the floor and wall corner
interfaces
Anti slip top lips for secure handling in wet environments.
Square jar emulation of full scale plant flocculator
geometry.
Ample
freeboard to avoid spillage |
| |
| |
Unique Paddles
Radial flow clear polycarbonate paddles have uniquely tilted blades
to induce a component of axial flow - ensures homogeneous suspension
of fast settling flocs.
Clip-on/clip-off easy clean paddle sets to suit 1L and 2L jars.

Velocity Gradient Schedules
Translate plant velocity gradient to
Jar
RPM
at a given temperature.
From experience, operators will generally know the optimum plant
velocity gradients for seasonal changes in water temperatures. These
schedules provide the jar test speed required to emulate preferred
plant velocity gradients. This information should take some of the
“black magic” out
of correlating test flocculation to the plant
flocculation. |
