Q Do you offer 2 & 6 paddle units?

 

A. Not at this point.  We’ve previously offered a six paddle unit in addition to the current 4 paddle version.  When we previously offered both a 6 paddle & 4 paddle systems, we’ve found a  strong demand for the 4 paddle station. 

 

Q Is the device compliant with US, European and Australian requirements and standards?

 

A. The device has undergone electromagnetic compatibility (emissions and immunity), also safety compliance testing to relevant and mandatory requirements in the Australasian, European, and North American markets.

Q What is the turn around time for delivery?

 

A. We maintain a buffer stock of Jar Tester so can normally fill orders within the week. Please contact us regarding current stock levels available.

 

Q What are the Jar Tester's dimensions & mass?

 

A. Boxed (packaged) - 750mm L x 250mm D x 465mm H @ 15.8Kg

Unboxed - 700mm L x 210mm D x 390mm H @ 12.2Kg

 

Q What do you mean by “advanced backlighting design”?

 

A. The advanced backlighting design provides contrasted illumination for accurate observation of floc size, density, settling rates and supernatant/subnatant clarity/colour break.

The uniquely positioned lighting array includes wide angle low wattage (2.4W) LEDs and an acrylic diffuser. Potential interference caused by thermally induced currents that may hinder settling floc particles is avoided.

 

Q What courier service do you use?

 

A. For distribution within Australia we use Australia Post or your preferred carrier. For international distribution we use Fedex, Australia Post or your preferred carrier.

A. We understand price is important to our customers. Currency fluctuations and product volumes impact price.

Q What range of speeds (RPM) does Jar Tester operate at?

 

A. The recommended operating range is 20 – 200 RPM providing an equivalent plant velocity gradient range of 15 – 750 –s.

 

Q. Is the Platypus Jar Tester portable?

 
A. Yes, the instrument weighs 12kg (~30lbs) - we also offer a custom carry case
 

Q How do I choose between 1 and 2 litre beakers?

 

A. This is determined by personal preference.

 

Q Do the 1 and 2 litre jars have clearance to remove the jar without spillage?

 

A. Jars have ample freeboard above the plimsoll lines and anti-slip top 'lips' to avoid spillage when handling.

 

Q What voltage does the Jar Tester require?

 

A. The Jar Tester requires a supplied external powerpack; 240,110, 220 Volt with appropriate supplied cable.
