First generation jar testers were developed in 1985 in response to Aquagenics' need for jar testers (marketed as LABFLOCs) - at every water treatment plant it designed and constructed.

2G jar testers were successfully introduced in 1996 with improved manufacturing methods, value engineering and electronics. The sheetmetal clad fabricated appearance remained unchanged.

The structured development of world class 3G Platypus Jar Testers over 5 years incorporates the cumulative benefits of over 20 years corporate experience in the design, construction and commissioning of water treatment systems and the design, manufacture and application of jar testers.

Extensive input by plant operators, chemists and engineers during the product's development phase has addressed user needs, quality, reliability, durability, facility and safety.

Platypus Jar Tester's development as a world class product, has addressed compliance with relevant and mandatory standards and marks relating to electromagnetic compatibility and safety requirements of the Australasian, European and North American markets.
